Your Servant Leaders

Pastor Philip Redmond
I am here to humbly serve you as your shepherd, striving to set a good example as I follow the Chief Shepherd (1 Peter 5:1-4). My 3 primary responsibilites are as follows:

1) Worship of God
It is incumbent upon me to promote the proper worship and reverance of God through our personal holiness, corporate unity, church programs, administrative policies, delegated responsiblites, philosohpy of ministry, and worship environment (Col. 3:16, Eph. 1:12, Eph. 5:16-19).

2) Nurturing God's People
As your pastor, I am here to encourage you in your walk with the Lord and in your spiritual growth by teaching you the whole counsel of God, praying for you, counseling you, and providing pastoral care (Matt. 28:18-20, John 21:15-17; Col. 1:28; Eph. 4:12-13; 1 Peter 5:1-4).

3) Taking the Good News to the Lost
Serving as your shepherd carries the responsibility of promoting proper stewardship of all of God's resources including our time, finances, and church property. We must must never forget that the Gospel has been entrusted to us, and we are responsible for taking it to the lost. As your pastor I will strive to fulfill this responsibility by reminding you, encouraging you, teaching you, and demonstrating by example the importance of sharing the Good News with others. It is essential that our investments of time, money, and energy contribute to and do not distract from the fulfillment of this responsibility (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16; Luke 24:46-47; Acts 1:8, 11:29; 2 Cor. 8:4; 1 John 3:17).

Church Government
Trinity Baptist Church operates through a congregational system of church government. That means that each and every church member has an equal vote in the most important decisions discussed at our regulary scheudled family conferences. Because voting on every decision in the church would not only be ineffeicient and impractical, but in all reality impossible, it is necessary to delegate responsibility to spiritually mature, capable leaders. Responsibility is delegated to designated ministry leaders empowered and discharged to lead their respective ministries. Deacons are assigned to specific ministries to encourage, provide support, and ensure that ministry leaders have all the resources they need to accomplish their goals and fulfill their responsibilities.
